Whilst undoubtedly an attractive street in Belgravia, Elizabeth Street experienced a number of issues which our proposals have addressed. These included:
* Poor quality surfacing, lighting and street furniture, with a lack of public seating
* Domination by traffic, parking, highway signage and unsympathetic kerb configuration
* The junction with Ebury Street which is over-engineered, visually unattractive and uncomfortable for pedestrians Street
* Incoherent northern and southern sections of the street which are very different in character and function
* Poor integration with the coach station which dominates the activities of one section of the street and inhibits opportunities to thereby improve it
